Enforcing word to prompt the user opening a word document in read only mode is a useful feature to avoid accidental changes being made to a word document.
In this tutorial you will learn how to add a user prompt for opening a word document in read only mode.
Open a word document which you want to display the read only prompt.
Click on File from the top menu and select Save As option from the menu.
Click on the Tools option and select General Options from the drop down menu.
From the General Options window, check the check box next to Read-Only recommended and its done.
