He  Failed many times but he did not loose heart and continued his struggle until he became a legend of his field.

His father died when he was 5 year old. When he was 7 he started helping his mother in cooking and household activities when she would be busy in taking care of other children and doing job so he developed great cooking skills. When he was young he did many jobs but failed evey time and was never satisfied with what he was doing.

At age of 16 he quit school while at 18 he got married. Later on he joined army but could not make it. he applied for law school but was rejected.He became salesman but failed there too.He became father at 19 and her wife left him and took her daughter.

At 40 he got permanent job at Shell filling station and he started cooking different dishes which he learnt from his mother along with his job and serve them to customers (most of them used to be  travellers) in his storehouse which he converted into an eating area.


After some time he purchased a larger place nearby to increase sitting area and for the ist time he included recipe of FRIED CHICKEN in his menu and soon it became famous. He made his recipe perfect by experimenting and at last develeped the famous 11 herbs recipe of fried chicken.After that he sold his resturant and travelled across america to sell his Recipe.

His recipe was rejected more then 1000 times before it got accepted by one resurant in 1952.The resturant named it KENTUKY FRIED CHICKEN.

After launching it became a hit and sales were increasing day by day and in 1960 about 200 resturants were selling Kentuky fried chicken.


In 1964 he sold his recipe for 2 million dollars. In 1967 KFC had become the sixth largest resturant chain in America. The man behind all this struggle was  Colonel Sander (1890-1980)

In 1970 KFC was having more then 3000 branches all over the world.KFC was acquired by YUM brands in 1997.Nowadays KFC is the 2nd largest resturant chain in the world.
