In Firefox you can search by typing anything in the address bar or in the search bar of a new tab, but if you are lazy(like me) to open a new tab then you can also add a separate search bar in the Firefox tool bar.
Open Firefox and click on the application menu located at top right, and click on settings from the menu.
Click on Search from the left menu and select Add search bar in toolbar.
You can Close this tab, settings are saved automatically. Open a new tab and you will have a separate search bar next to the address bar.
